PSEUDONYM RECORDS are pleased to announce from the original master tapes of the live album Strange Story by the legendary Dutch rock band MR ALBERT SHOW.

The Eindhoven-based Mr. Albert Show can be considered as one of the ‘jam bands’ from The Netherlands in the late sixties, combining elements from rhythm & blues, rock, soul and psychedelia. The five-piece, led by saxophone player Bertus Borgers (Sweet d’Buster, Golden Earring, Groove Express) was truly a wild sensation for anyone who witnessed one of their gigs between 1969 and 1973. The band recorded two albums, both now fetching high prices from international record collectors.

After a little more than three years, though, the curtain call arrived and the band performed a sold-out farewell gig in September 1973 in their hometown. This double album features freshly remastered highlights of the two-and-a-half hour gig and includes the band’s classics like Electronic Baby and Let It All Hang Out, as well as Can’t Find My Way Home (Steve Winwood), Things We Said Today by The Beatles and Jumpin’ Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones.

Strange Story has been pressed by Pseudonym Records on 180 grams audiophile vinyl. The sleeve features artwork by the acclaimed Joost Swarte, who was also responsible for the cover of Mr. Albert Show’s second album, and liner notes including a recent interview that Wouter Bessels did with the band’s guitarist Erik Lintermans.

This live document, featuring previously unreleased recordings, is a real treasure for those who have seen the group performing or who actually were at their final gig. And of course for everyone who never got the chance to witness this legendary Dutch outfit live on stage.
