New release: 2LP KLEPTOMANIA – Elephants Lost

PSEUDONYM RECORDS are pleased to announce from the original master tapes of the album Elephants Lost by the legendary Belgian prog rock band KLEPTOMANIA featuring Dany Lademacher (Herman Brood).

Unreleased when it was originally recorded in 1971 and barely released later in the decade, the title of Kleptomania’s Elephants Lost was eerily prophetic until now. Once as hard to find as ivory, the Belgian heavy psych masters’ album has been remastered from the original tapes, spread onto two LPs for maximum fidelity, and enhanced with three killer alternate bonus tracks on this Pseudonym reissue. Inspired by Hendrix, blues, jazz and contemporary heavy rock, the band bursts out of the gate with a fistful of blooz fuzz on Moonchild, utilizes a potent riff-and-vocal combination on Stop, blends melody with the heavy sound on Visit From Above, and shows off their chops on some spacey jams. A record label snafu 40 years ago prevented these contenders from realizing their potential, but it will never suppress one of the finest heavy rock rarities of its era.

This 180 gram vinyl 2LP reissue is packaged in a gatefold cover full of rare pictures and exclusive liner notes by Doug Sheppard of Ugly Things magazine with interviews with former band members of KLEPTOMANIA.

Release April 22nd 2014
