Description:

BRAINBOX

Without any exaggeration Brainbox may be called the sensation of 1969! The extremely carefully chosen combination of the group is responsible for that. This all links up with the prevailing tendency to combine the talents, which were spread over certain pop-groups, to one strong formation. The Amsterdam based supergroup was founded medio 1968 by Jan Akkerman (guitar), Kaz Lux (vocals), André Reijnen (bass) and Pierre van der Linden (drums). Soon it became clear, that Brainbox could create music on a level higher than most groups will ever reach. Their self named debut album from 1969 contains several classic tracks like Dark Rose, Summertime and Reason To Believe. Remarkable is the almost 17 minutes long, psychedelic version of their hit single Sea Of Delight, including drum solo! The album is regarded as an inspiring document of pop culture and it sold very well. Almost every teenager owned a copy. Flutist Tom Barlage (Solution) plays a guest performance in Scarborough Fair and Dark Rose. Bonus track is Down Man, Brainbox’ first single. For this rerelease, Pseudonym decided to digitally clean and remaster the original tapes. Therefore, the songs sound better than ever before.
